CELEBRATING ALUMNI IN KUALA LUMPUR

 

On 2nd. November 2022, Newcastle University Alumni celebrated her 250,000 members around the world in RuMa Hotel and Residences, Kuala Lumpur from 6.30pm to 9.00 pm.

Newcastle graduates of various years from 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s were invited to this event.

A brief introduction was presented to the former graduates.

It seems that the major distribution of former graduates are in UK and internationally, China has more than 10,000 graduates and Malaysia has about 6,000 members of various fields.

The current Director Generals of Ministry of Environment and Water and Ministry of Health graduated from Newcastle University.

FAMOUS ALUMNI MEMBERS

 

Over the years,  Newcastle University has produced graduates who brought fame and enhanced the reputation for our Alma mater. 

Rowan Atkinson (Mr Bean), the comedian and actor is world renowned for his comedy series. 

Closer home in Malaysia was our Late Yasmin Ahmad. 

She graduated from Newcastle in Politics and Psychology. 

She was a film director and produced a number of famous movies over the years before she died from stroke.
